The value of Education Day

Education Day 2023 - Community, Connection and Caring: Strategies for Building Resilience and Wellness, is just weeks away! Find out how this full day of education, networking, and skill-building can help you protect and improve your own mental health, as well as the mental health of those most important to you.

Whay have an Education Day?

Whether you’re working on the frontlines or in front of a computer, everyone experiences workplace stress. Our jobs can put us in high-pressure, high-stress situations, dealing with emergencies and crises on a regular basis. This can lead to a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and burnout.

Over the past few years, we have all faced unprecedented challenges and demands which have only further amplified the pressure we face every day. That's why Education Day is more important than ever. Education Day presents a full day of opportunity to learn, connect and heal together with your peers, guided by experts who understand the unique challenges dealing with work related stress and trauma.

How Education Day Helps

Coming together with your peers on Education Day provides a sense of community and support, allowing you to connect with others who are going through similar experiences. This can help reduce feelings of isolation and stigma, and create a safe space to discuss your mental health concerns openly and honestly. Learning from our speakers and connecting with your peers will provide a range of perspectives and experiences, allowing you to learn from others and gain new insights into your own mental health.

Topics for Education Day 2023 include:

  • Movement builds community. Movement builds resiliency

  • Nursing: The effects of repetitive traumatic stressors, the current pre-licensure academic preparation, and suggestions for a way forward

  • Dealing with a crisis in the mist of the Pandemic

  • Building A Proactive Self-Care Wellness and Action Planning

  • Post Traumatic Growth

  • Developing Long-Term Resiliency

  • Updates from WCB and The Ministry of Labour, Safety and Immigration

We're excited to welcome both past and new participants to come together and develop a greater sense of self-acceptance and understanding by learning that you aren't alone in your struggles. We invite you to connect with your community and become empowered and motivated to take an active role in you own mental health and well-being.
